Havok Magazine issue 2.3 launches today! If you’ve been following me, or have been within ear shot, you’ll know I have a short story in this issue. Who will the epic fight of Fantasy vs Sci-fi? This month was a contest issue, which means someone was going to win a $100 Amazon gift card!
Let’s be honest here, at first I was a touch disappointed that I didn’t win. But then I read the winner’s story… It is incredibly amazing! Congratulations to Tina Yeager for your excellent story! You hooked me quick and left me wanting more!
I’m honored and humbled to have placed as a finalist in this issue. There are some very amazing stories in this issue. I’m still new to this “letting-people-read-my-writing” thing, and with how it’s going, it’s been easy for me to think the yellow brick road is a smooth and safe path. I’m glad I have friends and family and Jesus to help keep my toes on the ground. I have to work hard to make my craft the best it can be!
If you like stories about inter-dimensional travel, or Dragons and shape-shifters and magic, go grab a copy of this month’s issue!
(update) – I also have a short story featured on Splickety’s Lightning blog today! Go check it out!

Oh, my goodness! The pirate may be my favorite story yet! Bring it to the Writers Guild next time. It is such an excellent example of how much can be said in such few words. I felt as if I knew this fellow in his fine, black hat. I’m having a blast watching you go.
