A term that I’ve learned of recently sums up all the things that I like to write: Speculative Fiction. Google tells me that Speculative Fiction is a broad literary genre encompassing any fiction with supernatural, fantastical, or futuristic elements. Over the past few months I’ve submitted some of my short stories to a couple different magazines. One of those magazines is called Splickety.
Splickety runs three different online magazines. Splickety Prime is a general fiction magazine, Havok is fantasy and science fiction and Splickety Love is for romance stories. Most of their editors are Christians and use Splickety as an outlet for creative writing. I’ve really enjoyed the feedback and helpful edits that they’ve given me.
I submitted a story to Prime that is a western-themed tale of a US Marshall on a train ride to his retirement. Things go wrong when bandits decide to shake things up.
The issue that my story will be featured in will be releasing in June! I’m very excited to see where this is going, and can’t wait to share more of my writings with all of you!
